Located just off Bruton Smith Boulevard (I-85, exit 49), the Tom Johnson Camping Center Racing Resort at Charlotte is a short walk from the frontstretch of the home of stock car racing, Lowe's Motor Speedway. NASCAR drivers and teams will come home to Lowe's Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Banking 500 only from Bank of America on Oct. 17. Many people's first experience with homecoming was in high school, and tying into that theme, Lowe's Motor Speedway has partnered with six area school systems in Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Iredell and Rowan counties to give their high schools the chance to participate in the track's Fund-Racing program.

The Fund-Racing program provides area high schools with the horsepower to fight budget crunches through fund raising opportunities surrounding the Oct. 17 running of the NASCAR Banking 500. Tickets are available for the NASCAR Banking 500 for $30 and tickets for the Dollar General 300 are just $20. The schools will receive $10 from each ticket they sell. To support your school, select it from the list below! The school organization you are contributing to will be selected during the order process.

To help celebrate homecoming NASCAR style, country music singer/songwriter Eric Church will return to his home state to perform a concert as part of Carolina CollegeFest 2009!

"Having grown up in North Carolina, being a NASCAR fan is a given," said Church. I've been to this very race many times with my dad. To be able to go back and play is a very special homecoming for me.

"I know a lot of my fans love NASCAR and a lot of NASCAR fans love country music. I guess the only question to be answered is, who is louder? The guys and their cars or me and the band. I can't wait to find out!"

Carolina CollegeFest 2009 is part of the pre-race festivities for the NASCAR Banking 500 only from Bank of America on Saturday, Oct. 17. This exciting event geared toward college students will feature a pre-race concert by Eric Church, and include a race ticket in a special section, admission to the pre-race tailgating party and more! Attendees will have the chance to win exclusive prizes like a VIP trip to Victory Circle and pit passes!
